You didn't really do anything with the theme, the animation (aside from being in greyscale and having a fake film grain effect rendered over top) doesn't resemble animation from the 1920's at all.

It even uses elements (tweens) that explicitly would not have been possible within the era.

And that could possibly have been forgiven if the actual animation was any good, but quite frankly it isn't. There's no easing, the actions are all ridiculously slow and yet it's somehow still confusing as to what's going on.

And to top it all off, it doesn't even have a proper ending. It just stops abruptly which no indication that it's supposed to be the end of the animation whatsoever.

Well i tried my best to make it look authentic to the early 20th Century Golden Age Animation, but unfortunately time, procrastination, and personal issues makes it difficult for me to finished and polished it which is why i will soon updated it tomorrow. And also, The Madness Animation that i made was actually more of a cutout animation like The Adventures of Prince Achmed and a lost animation El Apostol rather than rubberhose-esque animation that you see commonly in 1900s to 1930s.

Hahaha, this is really cute!

Reminds me a lot of very old-school Newgrounds content. The timing is all lightning fast and the staging makes it very hard to see what's going on. That coupled with a lack of any real easing on the motions makes it very hard to follow what's going on.

A little more work on your easing and your timing and you'd have something incredibly well made here though!

Why would you submit this to the portal?

What wonderful and expressive animation. The movements are full of life and the artwork is consistent and solid. The only real criticisms I have are a few scenes and sequences which seemed to be comprised of purely tweens, which stood out a lot against the rest of the animation. The ending was also quite abrupt and could really have done with something more of an end-card or something to wind the animation down to a close.

Very well done though! Absolutely fantastic piece of work!

Thanks alot! Yeah I totally agree. I rushed a lot by the end. Theres even stuff with the audio I didnt bother with just cause i wanted to start on new projects.
Thank you for your critism! Ill do better next time :)

Seems like it would be better suited to a .gif in the art portal or something similar. It really just lacks the content to really belong in the movies portal.

Okay artwork with some pretty weighty animation, but also lacking a lot of frames/in-betweens.

Thanks for feedback.

I'm really sorry about wrong portal thing, and I didn't learned how to work with gifs yet, so i've decided to make it as video file.

Animation isn't necessarily bad but honestly this is the worst format to actually view this in.

If the images were scanned, or even photographed then edited to fit into the frame properly this would view so much more naturally.

Additionally the animation overall lacks a lot of easing, movements just kind of happen with no real force or momentum behind any of them. I recommend reading up on the 12 principles of animation.

A lovely attempt with some very solid artwork, but clearly needs improvement.
